How to stay focused on studying can be challenging when distractions and low motivation get in the way. Here are 6 proven tips to improve concentration and study more effectively.
As soon as you sit down to study, all sorts of unnecessary thoughts seem to crowd your mind. Social media seems to be beckoning. And during study time, the phone keeps coming to mind.

How can one get rid of this bad habit? Being focused on studies is one of the biggest challenges and problems of student life. In this age of information technology, there are many ways to avoid studying, such as: smartphones, laptops, televisions, etc.
So, it has become almost impossible to concentrate on studies nowadays. So what is the solution? How can one study with concentration even though there are so many distractions around?
This is what I will share in today’s discussion. If any disease occurs, the root cause of that disease is first found out. Similarly, you have to find out the reasons for not being able to concentrate on studies.
If you know these reasons, we can easily solve them. Let’s start by knowing the reasons.
Reason Number 1: Lack Of Interest
If there are 6 academic subjects in the class, then 90% of the students find all the subjects boring. There are the remaining 9.99% of students who like at most 2 or 1 subject. And there are 0.01 or 1 or 2 people who may like all 6 subjects.
Now we complete the subjects we like in a way. But how do you study the rest of the boring subjects? You have to pass the exam. This is the main problem.
If we find interest in any work from the heart, the work becomes easy. So, we have to find a way to apply which creates interest in studying all the subjects, not just one or two.
Reason Number 2: Lack Of Reason

(Don’t mind!) If I tell you, you have to drink your urine. What will you do then? You might vomit imagining it.
But if a situation arises where you are in a desert, and it has been 2 days and there is no water anywhere, you are very thirsty.
If you review history, you will see many people who survived in such situations by drinking their own urine. If there is a big reason behind something, people are ready to do it.
But we don’t have a big reason to concentrate on studies! Why should we study? This is not clear to us. But what happens the night before the exam? Then there is the energy to finish reading a whole book in one day.
Because there is a fear that if you don’t complete the reading, you will fail the exam. Then we have a clear reason in front of us.
So we have to find some reasons that will encourage us to study throughout the year, not just before the exam.
Reason Number 3: Distracting Elements
In ancient times or the Middle Ages, and even in modern times, one had to go to the teacher’s ashram to gain knowledge. This was done because, away from everything, attention was solely focused on acquiring education.
But what is happening today? Is this possible today? With a smartphone in hand, it feels like the whole world is in your grasp.
In this situation, it is indeed a very challenging task to concentrate on studies amidst so many distractions. But if there is a problem, there will also be a solution.
Many tutorials and articles already exist on the internet regarding this problem. Therefore, finding advice today is not a very difficult task. The most difficult task is implementing those pieces of advice.
Because not many people show the right path to implement them. Today, I will share those ways and also some easy techniques to implement them. Let’s solve the 3 problems we found!
Idea number 1: Study Game

Everyone loves to play games. If the game is more fun, then there is no alternative. Every game has two rules. The first is that the rules of the game must be followed.
The second is that good performance in the game earns rewards. So, if we can turn studying into a game, then we can overcome the first problem, i.e., ‘lack of interest’.
How can we transform studying into a game? There are several ways to accomplish this. But I am sharing my ideas. You can adopt any other way you like.
My rule is, if I can finish a certain number of lessons within a certain time, I reward myself. I divide the time from the morning. These times range from a minimum of 50 minutes to a maximum of 2 hours.
Then I select some topics or lessons that need to be completed within that time. If I can finish, I reward myself.
For example: if I can finish 5 math problems within 50 minutes, I get a reward for watching a 15-minute movie clip or eating 5 biscuits.
By doing this, studying is transformed into a game. Interest is found in the mind. To win the reward, you have to finish the math within a certain time, so attention is not lost.
Idea Number 2: Why Sheet
The second problem was “Lack of Reason”.We need to find some reasons for studying. These reasons should be great. The greater the purpose, the more enriched our “why sheet” will be.
For example, someone dreams of studying to be in an important position in the state and to serve the country. Because to get a big position, one has to study up to a minimum level.
Again, for some, the purpose may be, “I have to study to get a good job. I have to take care of my family, etc.”.Whatever the reason, it must be strong.
So, after seeing these reasons on the ‘why sheet’, deep emotions work within the mind. Besides, you can buy colored paper. You can write the reasons there and put them on the wall or in front of the door.
If you notice it repeatedly, seriousness will come to mind. Many people are ashamed to write down their goals and objectives. They don’t write it thinking about what people will think.
But for them, one way is to use code language. That is, no one else except you will understand that symbolic language.
Idea Number 3: Reminder Sheet

The third problem was “Distracting elements”. We have to find some ways so that we can stay away from all distractions during the study period.
We can study by turning off mobile phones or laptops. But one wants to take the smartphone in hand again and again. In this case, a “reminder sheet” could be useful for you.
If you can study by turning off your smartphone or laptop, then that’s good. But if that can’t be done, then there is no problem. In that case, you will need paper.
If any thought comes to mind while studying, it should be written on a rough paper. And tell your mind, don’t worry! We will research this after finishing our studies!
Then, after finishing the studies, you have to take the reminder sheet in hand. All the thoughts written on the paper have to be solved. This will create a balance between mind and intellect.
If you do this, you will not have to create concentration for studying against your mind.Your concentration will be created automatically in the study. Because a study game is running while studying. May your journey be auspicious.
